The most amusing thing on the box, at the moment, has to be the Walkers’ “Walkears Comic Relief Commercial” featuring Stephen Fry as a disciplined teacher, taking the morning register, lumbered with his bunch of unruly pupils! Not content with red noses, an unsuspecting viewing public is now being asked to slip on a pair of big red ears!! I wonder which part of our anatomy will be next for similar adornment?!!
Mr Fry’s class of celebrity students, most looking very untidy in school uniform, includes nonconformist Walkers’ regular Gary Lineker, in that he’s the only one smartly dressed and not sporting a pair of ginormous fake ears, large-collared comedian Harry Hill, poptastic lasses Girls Aloud, actress Billie Piper, ex-“Top of the Pops” presenter Fearne Cotton and (unfortunately) big-mouthed Russell Brand. For those of you interested, I’ve posted a selection of screen caps from the advert on sister site “Editions of You” at http://timewarden59.blogspot.com.

Billie Piper in a school uniform? Now that can only be a good thing!
Her career continues to blossom after leaving Dr Who - Walkers Crisps?!! Great career move!!
(Oh I'm such a bitch. I'm sure great things beckon for her, really. She was good in "Ruby in the Smoke" and I'm sure she'll be good in other stuff too...)
Billie, in or out of school uniform, is a good thing (as long as she doesn’t “sing”)! The Walkers Crisps ad is for Comic Relief though I think Ms Piper was added as an afterthought as she isn’t in the version on the “Walkears” website. I’m looking forward to seeing her Fanny, next month, in ITV1’s new adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Mansfield Park”!!
Whilst changing my avatar (for the umpteenth time!), Old Cheeser, Simon, left the following comment on my temporary (untitled) post...
“Nice pic of Freema but what's the topic Tim? Oh silly question - kind of obvious!
“That's from The Sun article with the shot of David T and John B on location isn't it? Really looking forward to the return of Captain Jack...And not long til the series returns now...
“I notice that Freema's red jacket seems to be cropping up in a lot of stories...are the production team going for a "uniform" look for the companions as in the old JNT days, I wonder?”
The pic is indeed from The Sun article. I thought Freema was looking good, with her hair down, hence the new avatar! I finally found out how to change the profile pic in new Blogger despite not being particularly computer literate, though it wasn’t the bit of HTML code they indicated on the help page!!
I don’t know why but I assumed, from the initial publicity stills, that Freema would be wearing her red jacket throughout. Have you noticed Tennant’s pinstripe has reverted to brown?
Thanks for re-publishing my comments, Tim.
Freema does look good with her hair down. And glad to hear you managed to change your avatar. Yes, it would seem that Freema will be wearing the same trademark jacket throughout the series. Could be anachronistic or inappopriate in some settings but then it's not quite as silly as Tegan's air stewardess uniform was in certain places.
And yep I did notice David's change back to brown. Well, still good to know he'll be trying out some different suit types/colours in series three. What next? Gold lame? Pink Polyester...?
And I just re-read your Billie comment and I couldn't help noticing a certain double entendre:
"I'm looking forward to seeing her fanny..." Sorry??!
(That's revenge for your "post" remark on my blog!! He he!!)
Ha ha! Yes it'll be very interesting to see Billie's Fanny Price. Will it gor for a song, I wonder?
