Bryan Ferry - Avalon (Paris, 2000)
(intro)
Now the party’s over,
I’m so tired,
And then I see you coming,
Out of nowhere.
Much communication,
In a motion,
Without conversation,
Or a notion.
Avalon.
When the samba takes you,
Out of nowhere,
And the background fading,
Out of focus.
Yes, the picture’s changing,
Every moment,
And your destination,
But you don’t know it.
Avalon.
Dancing, and dancing,
We’re dancing, and dancing.
When you bossa nova,
There’s no holding,
And would you have me dancing,
Out of nowhere.
Avalon.
(instrumental)
Avalon, Avalon,
Avalon, Avalon.
Avalon, Avalon,
Avalon, Avalon.
Avalon.

Great song, one of my all time Roxy favourites!! Sooo sophisticated.
So any word on Roxy's new album?
It looks like being a while as Bryan’s just gone on the road to promote new solo album “Dylanesque”. Lauren Laverne, interviewing Mr Ferry on “The Culture Show”, jokingly suggested 2009 to him! At least, I assume she was joking!! But, he didn’t deny that that is a distinct possibility!!!
Oh dear! Mmm - in which case, I think Roxy are akin to Kate Bush or Peter Gabriel - artists that go at their own pace and bring out new material when it suits them! Let's hope Laverne was wrong though!
