I loved 'Strange' but sadly seemed to be in a massive minority - it's one of the many deserving series that never got past one season whilst dreadful rubbish like My Hero runs for year after banal and uninspired year.
I enjoyed “Strange” too although I’ve yet to see the final episode (with Tom Baker) as the PDC failed on the VHS! Many of my favourite one season series seem to have been on BBC2. Obviously, I would like to have seen more of “Star Cops” as well as Jonathan Hyde in “Shadow of the Noose”, which I adored at the time, and also Edward Petherbridge in “The Dorothy L Sayers Mysteries”, to name but three. It’s a shame Emily Joyce has spent so long languishing in the sitcom hell that is “My Hero”. I thought she showed promise in the “Cracker” story “True Romance”.
Thank you for the kind offer, Stuart. I’m not sure it’s worth putting you to all that effort as I already have all the episodes on VHS except the last one!

ReplyDeleteI suspect I may have the entire series on disc somewhere if you'd like copy?
