Another 200th post congrats to you (Old Cheeser too)! I really like Siobhan Fahey - there's something very real and gritty with her. The kind of woman who'd stand you a pint in the pub and talk about football. Not that the latter would interest me much, mind...

I'm not sure if I remember that Shakespeare's Sister track but they were great in their day. My own personal favourites are "You're History" and "Stay". Ms Fahey was off her trolley in an alluring kind of way. Although I did see her once on Chris Evans when the original line-up of Bananarama (briefly) reformed and she was a real mess. Did you also know that her and Marcella Detroit didn't get on? And while we're on the topic, whatever happened to Ms Detroit??!

I like Siobhan Fahey too. I wasn't a fan until I heard this single back in '96 and then I suddenly realised she's a frustrated glam rocker! She cites Roxy Music, David Bowie and T.Rex as her major influences and this record is very similar to Mott the Hoople's "The Golden Age of Rock 'n' Roll"!!
"I Can Drive" didn't fare too well in the charts, only reaching number thirty, whereas "Stay" remained at number one for eight weeks. Consequently, the album from which this song is taken remained unreleased for eight years until 2004. Marcella Detroit doesn't appear on this third Shakespear's Sister LP and rumour has it the ladies haven't spoken to one another since parting company!
